History of Last One’s Standing

It all started around October 2002. Socom 1 online play was the ultimate 3rd person shooter I had ever played PS2 Online was the best thing ever.

When I first started playing I wasn’t very good I quickly figured out there was a lot to learn. As a result I hadnt been recruited into a clan and I had no local friends that played socom left, so I decided to think of a name and start my own clan. The idea of making a clan for online gaming was new to a lot of people so I figured I would start one and start meeting people (cool people) to play with. What I mean by cool people is I really didnt care how good you were after all I was learning myself I just wanted to play with people that were mature and was there to have fun.

Then there was =ITK= Impossible To Kill . I got the idea I remember playing the map Death Trap as a Terrorist and people complaining about the guy named REAPER on the Seals team that seemed to be impossible to kill. Well REAPER became my first recruit. I soon found out running a clan setting up matches was a big pain. There were about 6 of us total when I ran into the clan ~POS~ Promisers of Sorrow players echo, ground zero, sleepdog, reverend. I had ran into them just playing and having fun I of course was by myself hard to get new recruits and those that I had slowly stopped getting on. I was asked to join by sleepdog orinally and was told I needed to meet there leader echo first. I did join ~POS~ where I met a lot of really cool people that are still with me today BLUE03 aka FUTUREX the best sniper in SOCOM, LAW the best overall player I have seen in the game.

The History of the name ~POS~ as I recall: There were a few of the members of ~POS~ that were friends and brothers in real life and were members of a military uinit of some kind that was called ~POS~ Promisers of Sorrow. The name had a lot of meaning to them Ground Zero, Echo, DOC and a few others. This is important to later on in the story.

Try and follow me as I recant some of the fall of ~POS~  and the rise of =L0S=

Some background. What attracted me to ~POS~ originally is there attention to having fun in the game and they were all pretty good. When I joined I met Ground ZERO who had a strong desire to fomalize our training creating stratagies that we would practice. I quickly embraced this idea the results of practicing and stratagy was imediate. I had taken the job on of website developement and worked closely with echo on clan structure and developement. I worked with REVEREND in Recruitment and running practices with Ground ZERO. Our leader then echo developed the structure that we would take on the same as the US MARINES. Fully with enlisted men to ranking officers, Seamen to the Admiral. With echo I worked hard on developement of metals and awards that would get people fired up and interested in playing, playing as a team and winining, including getting them to participate in the website I spent a lot of time on. We worked on this to tilt and as you can imagine that ranks were now developed on all of us even those that came before me now were placed into ranking positions that did not have to do with seniority. We were all adults but the tension and the displesure of this mounted anyway. Ground Zero and his hard core CORE idea’s was taking the fun out of it for some people. I recall sleepdog just wanting to play not wanting to care about wars or fomal practices where each member had a job and she wasnt alone either. Eventually our clan members that were friends in “real life” had enough. All were with good ideas including the birth of ranks and medal that 100’s of clans use today as a result had decided that change was eminet and the clan must split. This was sometime between Febuary and April 2003. I had become pretty close to echo by this time and we were discussing the break off and the NEW ranks that would be in affect and had been discussing a new name for the clan since the name was a keepsake of the close “real life” relationships DOC, ECHO, and Ground Zero shared. Just messing around after spending hours with Saul aka echo on three letter acronyms and there meanings that may best fit our new venture I came to LMS Last Man STanding. Echo liked it but we figured it was a great name for a men only clan or a single person. I came up with the name thinking of echo’s real name Saul or SOL and the LMS name we had also considered. In sticking with the same theme idea I had come up with ONES instead of MEN or MAN and I told echo it was his name spelt backwards. You see echo had a hot mail email account where he used the spelling SOL for his name. I am trying to paint you a picture here of my thinking. Echo loved the name we settled on the tag with equal signs =LOS= and the birth of LAST ONES STANDING was born May 5th 2003. All happening at the same time was the distractions of real life for Saul (echo) He was living at his job litterally and his play time was very limited. Some of the problems he had included money, his girlfriend, and his real friend Ground Zero. I don’t no exactly the whole story between them I do know that Ground Zero had the PS2 that Saul use to play on. When echo left the clan his plans were not discussed with any of us to my knowledge I of course spoke to him but only a couple of times after he left . It was to my suprise the clan was left to me even though the next ranking officer was our XO REVEREND Iwas 3rd in Command. There had been tension between Reverend and I for some time we liked each other and was able to continue for some time afterwards. I would like to mention two big recruits happened during this time that are still fighting along side me 4play the best gunner and partner in a 2 man group you can ask for and QUEST a real cool guy and one that has grown as a player to a great over all consitant player. We were running about 30 man clan at the time 2-3 rosters when Reverend stared behind the scenes prep certain players for his take over of =LOS= and had created another roster without my permission let alone me knowing about it and had players leave the 2nd roster to accept his invite. Thats when it all came to a head the stories are crazy, long, and stupid. Reverend and I had words the fact of =LOS= not being left to him had burned a hole in him. Another area of disagreement was my disire to take the clan to a more serious direction playing wars continuing our development of Ranks and Climbing the clan ladders. I am very happy to say that only a few that left us included Reverend’s wife sleepdog and son twist also DRIVER, JROCK and 6thsense. The rest stayed with me and I found out quickly I had a great group around me. While I am mentioning key recruits soon after all this we aquired a killer vixan an M60 girl from the clan KR , shy. I love seeing her get hit on in the lobbys and taking it to those kids and under sexed sleezballs in the game and owning them all. Reverend and the few meek created AKR and the fueding never stopped his claim of creating L0S and recruiting all of the players had Reverend in a straight jacket confused and senile Reverend recruited for AKR and constantly trying to cause trouble in our rooms. You know team killing trying to convert those still in LOS and challenging use to a war. I wanted nothing to do with it. Reverend I considered a friend had tried to take over LOS I believe to rid of me. Control is what he wanted being a friend was nothing more than a cover up. I considered AKR as unworty to play with the elite =L0S= squad. I fought the idea of waring them for a long time. Eventually they got to Blue and some others and my team came to me wanting to war AKR telling me “lets kick there ass and get it over with” quoting Reverend saying “the winner gets West 4 the looser leaves the server forever” as you know ill never forget that war. It was Game Battles ladder match first two maps were MIXER and RUINS the 3rd map i dont recall we never got there. we swept them on our map the MIXER and beat them 5-3 with draws in their map RUINS. For me I would like to end the story there.
